Alliance Francophone des Registres de Commerce (AFREC)
Thomas DENFER has been an associate registrar of the Paris Commercial Court for economic activities, appointed by the Minister of Justice, since June 2016.
Deeply involved in digital issues at the heart of the legal professions, he served as Legal Director of the GIE Infogreffe from 2012 to 2015 and was elected member and treasurer of the Board of the Federation of Trusted Third Parties in the Digital Economy (FNTC) in June 2016, a position he held for four years.
He regularly represents his profession before the European Commission in the framework of the interconnection of business registers among European Union member states. He also represented the CNGTC during France’s hearing before the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) in 2021, regarding the implementation of the Beneficial Ownership Register (RBE) and, more broadly, the commercial register (RCS) as effective tools in the fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism.
Elected President of the National Council of Registrars of Commercial Courts (CNGTC) in January 2022 for a two-year term, he represented his profession during a mandate marked by various reforms serving the users of commercial justice.
Committed to European and international issues for more than fifteen years, during his presidency of the CNGTC he promoted and monitored the creation of the European Foundation of Commercial Court Registrars, of which he has been Vice-President since 2023, as well as the Alliance Francophone des Registres d’Entreprises (AFREC), which he has chaired since 2023.
Since January 2024, Thomas Denfer has been Honorary President of the National Council of Registrars of Commercial Courts, where he was entrusted in June 2024 with the chairmanship of the Europe and Foreign Affairs Commission.
In March 2024, he became a member of the Scientific Council of the Institute for Studies and Research on Law and Justice (IERDJ), renamed the Robert Badinter Institute (IRB) in June 2025.
