Sarah joined the UK Civil Service at the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) in 2009. She has held a variety of policy and operational roles at the IPO, before joining Companies House (CH) as Director of Strategy, Policy, and External Communications in July 2023.

Prior to her current role at Companies House, Sarah was Director of Business and International Policy at the IPO and, before that, the IPO’s Deputy Director for Customer Experience.

As well as being on the Executive team at Companies House, Sarah is also on the Board of the European Business Registries Association.  In 2019 she was Chair of the Standing Committee on the Law of Patents at the World Intellectual Property Organization.

Sarah holds a Masters in Biochemistry from the University of Bath and a PhD from the University of Manchester. She has spent time living and working in Australia and Sweden.
