Robert was appointed UK XBRL Taxonomies Manager in December 2021, joining the Digital Reporting & Taxonomies team.

He is responsible for overseeing and delivering the Financial Reporting Council’s annual taxonomy updates on behalf of a consortium of UK bodies including HMRC, Companies House, and the FCA. He leads on the design and development of new taxonomies and manages the wider programme of technical and governance work. He contributes technical and software development experience on the intersection of AI, XBRL and business reporting.

Prior to joining the FRC, Robert was UK Senior Technical Account Manager at CtrlPrint, product managing XBRL software solutions supporting the EU’s digital reporting mandate. He also spent 10 years working in the creative media sector, delivering projects for a range of global brands including Twitter, Barclays and the NHS.

Robert holds a degree in English from the University of Warwick and is currently training as an ACCA accountant.
