Christopher Drake is the Director of the Business Services Division for the Connecticut (USA) Secretary of the State. He oversees the state’s business, personal property, and trademark registries, as well as the commissioning of notaries public and the issuance of apostille certificates under the Hague Convention. The Connecticut Business Registry has been recognized as one of the top business registries in the world for transparency and access to data. Additionally, Chris is the recipient of the 2024 Distinguished Manager of the Year for the State of Connecticut.
Chris is the President-Elect for the International Association of Commercial Administrators (IACA) and is set to host the 50th Annual IACA Conference in New Haven, Connecticut in May 2027.
Admitted to practice law in Connecticut and New York, Chris holds degrees from Fordham University (Bronx, New York) and the University of Connecticut School of Law (Hartford, Connecticut). His prior roles include serving as Deputy General Counsel to Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy, working as a litigation associate for Murtha Cullina LLP, and clerking for Magistrate Judge Thomas P. Smith (ret.) at the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut.
